In a move to support local shops and restaurants, various streets in Gràcia are to be closed to traffic during the days in the run-up to Twelfth Night. Restricting traffic during shop opening times provides a boost for local commerce, helping to reactivate the neighbourhood. La Vila de Gràcia is the neighbourhood with the second largest concentration of commerce in the city.
Travessera de Gràcia will be closed to traffic between C/ Gran de Gràcia and C/ Milà i Fontanals from 9 am to 8 pm on 3, 4 and 5 January.
The following streets will be closed to wheeled transport from 10 am to 8 pm on 4 and 5 January.
- C/ Verdi, between C/ Biada and Pl. Revolució
- C/ Torrent de l’Olla, between C/ Betlem and C/ Llibertat
- C/ Bailèn, between Trav. Gràcia and C/ Indústria
The traffic restrictions in different streets come as part of the Shock Plan to Support Local Commerce in the neighbourhoods in the district, providing a helping hand for the network of local shops and restaurants within the context of the social and economic crisis caused by the Covid-19 health crisis.
