On Wednesday, May 31st, ten families awarded the building located at Avinguda Escolapi Càncer, 10-12, have formalized the contract and signed for their respective homes at the offices of Municipal Institute of Housing and Renovation of Barcelona.
The ten assignees who will soon move into their respective homes join the twenty who already received the keys on March 30th, in a ceremony held in the building’s vestibule.
The newly constructed building consists of officially protected homes under social rental schemes and is located in the neighborhood of Torre Baró, one of the thirteen that make up the Nou Barris district, in the northernmost part of the city.
The new home of the awardees consists of a basement, ground floor, five upper floors, and a flat roof, along with a spacious vestibule where all the dwellings are located. Additionally, it is a highly energy-efficient building, thanks to the rooftop solar panels, the use of aerothermal energy, the two adapted low-consumption elevators, and the patio or vestibule that serves as a climatic atrium.
Both the ten awardees who will be living there and those who initially received the keys have been able to access the homes through the open call in the Barcelona Social Housing Applicants Register, where they were all registered.
