From 21 to 23 May, the Gran Via venue of Fira de Barcelona will host a new edition of Construmat, the leading trade fair for the construction and renovation sector. For three days, professionals from the sector will gather to showcase and promote all the latest developments, with a particular focus on solutions for accessibility, energy efficiency and sustainability – key issues for the Municipal Institute of Housing and Renovation of Barcelona (IMHAB).
As one of the most important public housing operators in Europe and a leader in the implementation of innovative and sustainable solutions in the construction and development of public housing, IMHAB will once again be present at Construmat this year, alongside Barcelona City Council. Their 98 m² stand will feature displays relevant to the achievement of their objectives.
IMHAB aims to promote a meeting place for professionals from both the public and private sectors. It will also take part in the Construmat Congress, presenting the most innovative proposals in the sector. Topics such as decarbonisation, the circular economy and industrialised construction systems – key issues in IMHAB’s current policy – will be discussed.
On Thursday 23 May at 10am, Joan Carles Melero, Director of Technical Services at IMHAB, will present the session entitled ‘Industrialised Housing and Project and Work Contracting: How to promote and build social housing quickly? This presentation will highlight IMHAB’s commitment to industrialised social housing in order to strengthen Barcelona’s social housing stock. This innovative and sustainable system allows for shorter construction times, and the single tender model for projects and works further accelerates construction.
