The future Barcelona Housing Plan 2025-2032 is now under way with a participatory process open to members of the public and the stakeholders involved. This initiative, which forms part of the Living Plan, should assess the measures implemented in recent years in the city and open up a space for debate where new perspectives can be offered to define the strategic lines guiding municipal housing policies over the next eight years. The participatory sessions will go on until the summer of 2025.
The process is based around three themes responding to the goal of the Living Plan:
- Guaranteeing the right to housing through the expansion of the affordable social housing stock.
- Promoting the renovation and improvement of existing housing.
- Paying particular attention to vulnerability and responding to demographic challenges.
The process is being held in various participatory spaces, such as the Advisory Council for the Elderly, the Barcelona Youth Council and the Barcelona Social Inclusion Housing Network. All sessions will be complemented with a digital debate on the platform Decidim.barcelona.
The Barcelona Social Housing Council (CHSB) is heading the process as an advisory and participatory body on the city’s housing policies.
