Barcelona becomes the perfect setting this summer to host the international conference European Network for Housing Research (ENHR) of 2022, organized by the Municipal Institute of Housing and Renovation (IMHAB) of Barcelona City Council and the homonymous platform which brings together institutions and professionals in housing’s field in and out of Europe.
Under the title of this year ‘Barcelona ENHR 2022. The struggle for the right to housing. The pressures of globalization and the affordability of the cities today’, the annual conference focuses its researches on the different internal and external factors that jeopardize the right to housing, and make it difficult to guarantee this necessary right.
This edition will be held from August 30th to September 2nd. It will begin next August 30th with New Housing Researchers Colloquium (NHRC) for researchers currently working on housing-related doctoral thesis, to seek a mentoring critique of their work. After that, from August 31st to September 2nd, the annual Conference of the European Network for Housing Research (ENHR)‘s platform will be held aimed at professional people of research in housing and specialized sectors to meet, to discuss approaches and results, as well as compare policies from different European countries.
Also collaborating in this event are the Barcelona Metropolitan Housing Observatory (OMHB), the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), the Barcelona Higher Technical School of Architecture (ETSAB) and the Barcelona History Museum (MUHBA).
